DASHING FOR DALLAS
"Over 10 years in the making"
FULL SHOWREEL AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST
What haven’t we been asked? Is this real, are these actors, are scenes cut with added action for effect, did we buy the footage? An emphatic NO to all (apart from Queen Elizabeth scenes, we can’t take credit for that). This is the Afghanistan war as it happened and as we lived it for months at a time, good bits and bad, boredom, mountain hopping in choppers, sunburnt and frozen in the same day, laughing as bullets zip past or clinging to the earth in moments of animal fear. You fight for world domination at the board game Risk while surrounded by real cannons, do your business in a plastic bag and sweat happily in a fitted pine sauna in desert heat.
Shot in six countries and featuring a dozen armies and vivid, genre-breaking exclusives, Dashing for Dallas is the defining film journey through a modern war.
5 years later we interviewed combatants and civilians from all sides which covers: the experience of combat, confirmed kills, post-traumatic stress disorder, anguish of families, civilian casualties and bereavement, insider killings, daily domestics on base, and predictions about the conflict’s outcome. Features an interview with HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
Now 10 years on we are planning to film what these people are doing now? With big production support we hope to exquisitely film the final phase of this epic documentary.
ACCLAIM - DASHING FOR DALLAS
"Dashing for Dallas is the real deal - straight, raw and unfiltered. A nation that has been at war for this long should know what war feels like for its soldiers, and this film goes straight for it."
SEBASTIAN JUNGER, Oscar nominee and award-winning director of HBO documentaries
Restrepo (2010), Korengal (2014) and The Last Patrol (2015)
"There is no apparent agenda in the film, there is no 'story', it is just an amazing way to show people multiple perspectives of warfighters in Afghanistan, raw, true and informative. I am terribly proud to have been a part of this." Lt. Gabe Stultz (ret.), US 101st Airborne Infantry
OBESITY TIME BOMB
Forget terrorism, immigration, bankers, microbial resistance and Vladimir Putin. One of the greatest threats facing the UK today is its soaring fat ratio and sedentary lifestyle, creating an epidemic as dire as any the country has faced in almost a century. A staggering 40million Brits are now overweight - and they just keep growing.
In this documentary Dan Raynham explores the science and statistics behind our expanding waistlines. Follow him as he attempts to get a white paper to the UK government, outlining his solutions for the crisis. Raynham is a fitness trainer, budding biologist and film-maker, giving him a unique opportunity to try to make a difference.
Update: Raynham's report made it to the Ministry of Health via the minister for culture media and sports. Their response has done little to convince him of any positive government action. Raynham will be following up with further correspondence. Local NHS have suggested a pilot scheme where Raynham would act as a "Fitness Tsar". These developments will feature in the film production.
The Chief Medical Officer has used Raynham's quote that Obesity is more of a threat than Terrorism.
